IAVON - ZODIAC LIFE RAFTS
If you are intending to purchase an Avon/Zodiac life raft or or an Avon/Zodiac dinghy then perhaps you should consider another manufacturer as the service agents for this company are very unreliable.
This year I had my Avon 'offshore' Life Raft serviced by one of the only TWO approved agents in all of France. The raft was returned, dirty, without a label. and without paperwork but what was a real concern the two halves of the canister were joined by 'duct tape'!
The duct tape joins look like this after only a few months but the service agent and for a while Zodiac, assured me that duct tape is the correct tape for the joining of two halves of a life raft container. The company doing the service were Quelart of 06410Biot France. They are one of the only two service agents Avon have in France! Not only are they economical with the truth, they took my life raft in for service and return it in a worse condition than when I sent it to them.. It is impossible to be certain if they actually service life rafts or simply take the sealing tape off, replace it with duct tape, return it to you then charge you hundreds of euros for having done nothing at all! - following the checking of the raft by an excellent Spanish company it would appear to be questionable if Quelarts actually did anything! Think twice before you put your life in their hands! It has been discovered that certain items they 'replaced' were out of date! - they failed to put the raft in a plastic bag before placing it in the container, failed to place a rubber plug where the inflation cord enters the container, as well as using domestic duct tape which quickly deteriorates.
